The Bank of England unveils the new £20 note
The Bank of England has unveiled the design of the new £20 polymer note, which features artist JMW Turner.
With two billion of them in circulation, the £20 note is the most commonly circulated bank note in Britain.
Security features include two see-through windows on the note and a metallic hologram.
According to the Bank of England, 88% of detected banknote forgeries were £20 notes during the first half of this year.
The new design will enter circulation on 20 February 2020. Vaultex is part of the Bank of England’s Note Circulation Scheme and will help roll out the new note.
