The Royal Mint has unveiled a new set of coloured 50p coins featuring characters from Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit series. The four new designs feature images of Peter Rabbit, Jeremy Fisher, Tom Kitten and Benjamin Bunny.

The coins have been produced in the hand-painted style of the original illustrations as part of the Beatrix Potter collection – launched last year to celebrate the children’s author’s 150th anniversary.

The first coin, featuring Peter Rabbit, is available to purchase on the Royal Mint’s website.
