Reporting to: Control Room Supervisor/Site Manager

Full/ Part time: Full Time – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 06:00 – 18:00

Key responsibilities of the Control Room Operator:

The role of a Control Room Operator involves acting in the day to day running of a Security Control Environment and ensuring Vaultex / B of E Security procedures are adhered to within the Centre.

  • Be responsible for carrying out daily Security checks to minimise Centre risk, dealing with on site visitors, including contractors, deliveries, and Vaultex employees, as well as outside agencies including the police.
  • Controllers are the first point of contact for visitors and employees to the centre so are required to present a professional image at all times.
  • Ensure strict compliance with door entry procedures allowing only authorised personnel entry to the premises.
  • Carry out strict security procedures, which include perimeter checks, employee/visitor searches etc.
  • Maintain vigilant observation using the digital CCTV Camera system/ alarm testing & assist in periodic security checks and procedures, reporting any suspicious activity.
  • Taking appropriate action when a breach of security has occurred or in the evacuation process. Crisis management in the event of incident and escalation process.
  • Accurately record findings from perimeter checks
  • Making clear and accurate PA announcements.
  • Completing accurate, detailed and relevant incident reports
  • Efficient alarm response
  • Be the site responsible person for Health & Safety issues, including carrying out alarm and fire safety tests.
  • Other general daily duties as delegated by the Supervisor Control & the Management team.

Essential skills/experience of the Control Room Operator:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Well organised with an ability to multi-task. Good time management skills
  • Excellent observation skills.
  • Ability to work alone and within a team.
  • Good timekeeping is essential.
  • Previous experience in the Security field, including control room will be an advantage, although training will be provided.
  • An ability to respond to emergency call outs within 20-30 minutes is preferred.
  • Actively contribute and drive the Employee Engagement agenda.
  • Demonstrate the wish to progress within the Company.
  • A flexible approach is essential, especially to working hours, the successful candidate will be required to provide holiday /sickness cover for all shifts within the control room
